Main Engine Monitoring Units established on engines

Engine PD-14 Monitoring Unit (BM-14)

Destination:

Measuring and monitoring of the main parameters of aviation engines, including vibration parameters. Engine “cold balancing” of rotors during its operation.

Main technical characteristics:

  • Receiving and measurement up to 40 analog inputs from sensors, which are installed in the engine;
  • Receiving up to 20 discrete signals of different type;
  • Receiving up to 8 ARINC-429 coded channels of low and high speed;
  • Outputting of 2 independent ARINC-429 coded channels;
  • Processing of more than 20 monitoring and diagnostics algorithms;
  • Processing of vibration monitoring algorithms, including tracking and broadband analysis;
  • Possibility to implement advance vibration diagnostics algorithms;
  • Implementation of "cold balancing" algorithms of rotors in operation without additional engine running;
  • Possibility to install the unit directly on the engine under hard operating conditions;
  • Unit dimensions: 340х360х80 mm, weight of the unit - not more than 4.8 kg.

Engine PD-14 monitoring unit (BM-14) has been developed and is produced jointly with Swiss company Meggitt S.A.

BM-14 is certified. Serial production.
